Edit-A-thon Coverage

It’s been a whirlwind of a week, and I really just wanted to write a post of gratitude.  I’m thankful to Stephanie for organizing such a wonderful Art+Feminism Wikipedia Edit-A-Thon event on Saturday so that about 14 people could come out and help to address the Wikipedia gender gap.  I’m thankful to Matt and Alex for coming out from Wikipedia to help us improve our knowledge and skills.  I still have SO much to learn, but it’s really gratifying to have the power to contribute knowledge to the online encyclopedia.  I’m grateful to everybody who came out to contribute or joined us remotely.

Most of all, I am honored and amazed that the local media found our story worth telling and gave me a platform to speak about issues that matter to me.  Joining Siko Bouterse to speak out on “Up to Date” on KCUR (our local NPR station) was a truly awesome experience.  And the day of the event, KCTV5 came out to film a brief segment for the 10:00 news.  I feel overjoyed to know that women artists—past and present—are getting some of the attention they deserve.
